Fluidcast
Adaptive Bitrate

The Fluidcast Platform is compatible with some backend streaming software which allow for “smooth” real time adaptive bitrate flash streaming.
Adpative bitrate flash streaming refers to the ability for a end-user to watch a video and that video automatically change the bitrate of that video without affecting playback.
To the end-user the video never hesitates or stops or buffers but simply continues to play changing constantly the current bitrate “level.”
The Fluidcast encoder allows for multi-bitrate transcoding which deploys videos in various pre-determined bitrates (for example; 500,1000,1500 and 2000kbps) and automatically “chunks” these videos into a playlist which can then be interpreted by the backend streaming software to stream the video smoothly without any buffering or hesitation.
