Template Engine

The Fluidcast template system uses a caching based SMARTY template engine. All the frontend and administrative templates are cached for faster retrieval and scalability.

The Fluidcast template system consists of eight different themes (or skins) which are provided with the Fluidcast Platform. These themes can be modified by the administrator easily and are in .tpl format. Common files are used through the Fluidcast platform in order to make it easy to change the entire look to the end user.

For white label clients of Fluidcast, the administrative area can also be skinned to allow the removal of all references to “Fluidcast.”

The fluidcast template system also contains a common css for each individual theme as well as jquery and ajax requests.

Administrator can also ask for a special license of Fluidcast where the “sections” folder is unecrypted allowing for complete customizing of the end user pages beyond just control of the template engine.

The common pages are easily controlled in the administrative area using a WYSIWYG console. These pages include;

- The help page
- Support page
- The terms and conditions page
- Contact and copyright pages
- Left side news and links

The Fluidcast template system also allows administrators “via the VOD management tool” to change the size of the thumbnails for each section as well as to control how many videos are displayed on each page or section.
