Fluidcast
Monetization
The Fluidcast Platform is more than just a content management system for video and other forms of content. At its core, the Fluidcast Platform is designed to monetize your content in a multitute of methods.
The minute load method:
Videos are monetized based on a pay per minute view method. As a user watches any video which is enabled to (deduct minutes) from a user’s account. The minutes are deducted from a user’s account until that account no longer has any minutes left in the account. A user has to “load” minutes into the account. The admin determines the cost of each “minute block” – for example $20 for 300 minutes or $50 for 1000 minutes, etc. An admin can also determine which videos are set as enabled to deduct minutes or not (in the case you want to offer videos for free.)
The money load method:
Each video or scene of each video is assigned a Pay per view price. Each price can be different such as $2.00 per minute, $4.00 per minute, $.20 cents per minute, or even $0 per minute (if you want that video to be free.) Users have to “load” their accounts in order to watch videos, when a user’s account is $0 then they are forced to add more money to their account. The admin sets what amounts a user can load their account such as: $20,$30,$50, etc.
Offer Free Trailers:
Free Trailers on the frontpage and trailers on video pages – These trailers are all set to be FREE and DO NOT deduct minutes or money.
Rentals:
Rental Streaming. An admin can set any video to be viewed for a particular time – set in days/hours/minutes and sets an exact price for unlimited flash stream viewing of that video. Example $7.95 for unlimited viewing for 2 days.
Pay per Download: An admin can upload or encode a WMV, AVI, MP4, etc, type video for direct download by the user to own. The admin sets the price for the is video and the user has the ability to download this video as many times as they want after they have paid for it. Example: $19.95 for unlimited downloads.
Pay per Download (rental): An admin can do decide on a downloadable video to have a set expiration date in days/hours/minutes.
Offer Free Videos:
Free Streaming: Any video an admin either sets as disabled for minutes to be deducted or $0 as a PPM in the money method becomes a free video to watch. This could be used in situations such as tube or free sites based on advertising business models. An admin could also make the subscriber area only available based on a monthly recurring fee and make all the videos free to watch as long as that user continues to pay for a membership. (This would require some coding of the database to connect to the biller in order to qualify that user under this method.)
